Chapter 4 · Order Types
Conditional and validity orders
Bracket, cover, GTT, AMO, IOC, GTC — what each does, and which of them exist in Nepal.
| Order | What it does | On NEPSE? |
|---|---|---|
| Day order | Expires at the end of the session | Yes |
| IOC | Fill immediately, cancel any remainder | Broker-dependent |
| GTC | Stays live until filled or cancelled | No |
| Bracket | Entry plus a target and a stop, placed together | No — Indian brokers |
| Cover | Entry with a compulsory stop attached | No — Indian brokers |
| GTT | A trigger that sits outside the order book until hit | No — Indian brokers |
| AMO | Placed outside market hours, queued for the open | No |
The useful idea underneath bracket and cover orders survives even without the feature: decide the target and the stop at the same moment you decide the entry. A platform can enforce that for you; a written trade plan does the same job with more discipline required.
