Nepal Rastra BankThe central bank. Sets monetary policy and regulates banks and financial institutions.
Banks and financial institutions make up a large share of NEPSE's market capitalisation, so an NRB directive can reprice much of the market at once. Its financial-literacy publications are also the only official investor education in Nepali.

The budget sets tax rates — including capital gains tax on shares — and the Economic Survey is the most complete published picture of the economy the market trades on.

Hydropower is one of NEPSE's largest sectors. This is the pipeline behind it: which projects exist, how large they are, and how far along they are — years before any of it shows up in a listed company's results.

Nepal Stock ExchangeThe exchange itself: listing, trading and settlement.
Trading hours, circuit limits, the settlement cycle and the list of licensed brokers all come from the exchange. Its site is a JavaScript application, so it cannot be indexed here — go to it directly.
