Chapter 5 · Reading the price screen
The floorsheet
Nepal publishes broker-level trade detail that most markets keep private. Here is what it can and cannot tell you.
NEPSE publishes a floorsheet: a record of executed trades showing the buying broker, the selling broker, quantity and price. By international standards this is an unusual amount of transparency, and Nepali traders make heavy use of it.
What it genuinely shows
- Which brokers were active in a stock, and on which side.
- Whether volume came from many small trades or a few large ones.
- Concentration — one broker accounting for most of a day's activity.
Used carefully it narrows the guesswork. Used carelessly it manufactures certainty out of nothing.
