The course

Chapter 8 · Risk, portfolio and taxes

Where to go from here

What this course covered, what it deliberately did not, and what to do next.

50 of 50 · 6 min

You have gone from what a share is to how to judge a company, read a chart, size a position and keep records. That is the whole foundation. What remains is practice, which cannot be read.

What this course deliberately did not do

  • Tell you what to buy. We teach how the market works, never what to buy — and anyone who does tell you should be asked what they gain from it.
  • Promise a method that works. Every framework here was presented with its limits.
  • State fee or tax rates. They change, and a stale number is worse than none.

Reasonable next steps

  1. 1Read a full quarterly report of a company you already own or follow, end to end, once.
  2. 2Write a trade plan for a position you are considering — then wait a week and reread it.
  3. 3Go deeper on a method in the technical analysis section, where each one is examined properly.
  4. 4Read one of the out-of-copyright classics in our library. They are free and they are the originals.
