Chapter 2 · Your accounts: bank, Demat, Mero Share, TMS
The TMS account
The broker's trading system — the only place you actually place a buy or sell order.
TMS stands for Trade Management System. It is the platform NEPSE brokers use, and your login is tied to one specific broker. Change brokers and you get a new TMS login; your Demat and shares stay where they are.
How do you place an order in TMS?
- 1Deposit funds with your broker, or ensure your collateral is in place.
- 2Log in to TMS during market hours.
- 3Choose the stock, the quantity, and the price you are willing to pay.
- 4Submit. The order joins the order book and waits to be matched.
- 5Watch whether it fills. An unfilled limit order simply expires.
